Who Is Mike Pompeo's Wife? New Details On Susan Pompeo

They are Evangelicals.
Since April 2018, Mike Pompeo has served as the U.S. Secretary of State, a position previously held by Rex Tillerson until he resigned in March earlier this year. Before him, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright (the first female Secretary of State) have served. Prior to his position, Pompeo was in the U.S. House of Representatives, and was Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Like many members of the Republican Party or Tea Party, Pompeo is religious and it clearly comes through in his political positions. Not only has he been endorsed by the NRA, but he’s against abortion, gay marriage, affordable health care, and doesn’t believe climate change exists.
Though spouses don’t always agree with their partner, especially in politics, what about those closest to him? Who is Mike Pompeo’s wife and what is their life like? Here are 7 things to know about Susan Pompeo.
1. She’s a Kansas native.
Susan was born and raised in Wichita, KS, and graduated from Wichita State University. According to her, she loves her hometown and wouldn’t have left if her husband didn’t become a politician.
“It used to be when someone was elected they bought a house and moved their entire family to Washington and that’s where they lived. That’s where the kids went to school. That’s where they made their home. But for us it could never be home. Wichita is home and we get back here as often as we can,” she told Wichita Magazine.
2. They have one son.
The couple have a 27-year-old son named Nicholas. He currently lives in New York and works at a tech start-up company. The family also has two dogs, Patton and Holly.
3. Susan is his second wife.
Pompeo was married to Leslie Libert in 1986 and divorced in 1997. The couple married right after he graduated from West Point.
4. They are Evangelicals.
The family regularly attends church at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Pompeo is also a deacon and teaches Sunday school.
5. She played a big role in his campaign.
In 2010, when he was running for the House of Representatives, Susan was a major part of the campaign process.
According to an interview with Wichita Magazine, she said, “We decided we would do this together. We set out to do this like we would do any venture. I loved the campaigning part of it, much more than Mike did. We’ve laughed many times because there is no manual to tell you step-by-step how to do this, not even how to transition.” She appeared in a 30 second commercial for her husband as well.
